Lacey Lawrence Bio

Lacey’s classes are fun and challenging with an emphasis on posture and core strength. Lacey is a certified Barre instructor and she completed her first 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 with Amy Ippoliti in Boulder, CO. After dealing with serious low back and neck pain for years, Lacey completed a second 200 hr YTT with physical therapist and yoga teacher, Lara Heimann in 2018. Lara’s perspective taught Lacey to use functional movement and anatomy as inspiration for her classes. Her experience with chronic pain has taught her so much about the practice of yoga. She ensures all her students have proper alignment and offers modifications too!

Lacey taught barre for several years and she loves combining yoga and barre in the Yogilates Barre class. Fun music plus a challenging workout make for a perfect class on the deck of Water Dog’s Studio!

Lacey is currently enrolled in an online Experiential Anatomy course to further her knowledge about the human body. She grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and luckily has a yogi mother who took her to her first class on her 13th birthday. She loves her two dogs Weasely and Peggy plus any animal she sees. Lacey graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2012 with a degree in Environmental Studies and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. Her love for the environment (and birds) is one of the reasons she moved home to Corpus Christi in 2014.

Anastasia Nichols Bio
At the age of four, my passion for fitness originated while doing fitness videos at home with my mom. As a young girl, I took traditional dance classes and ran cross country and track. During college, I began long distance running and ran several half marathons and one full marathon. After graduating, I taught third grade then began working at a women’s gym in Tempe, Arizona after the school year ended. There I pursued my passion for fitness by becoming a fitness class instructor, an assistant group fitness coordinator, and a fitness video principal for Christi Taylor. I immediately knew I had found my calling in helping others to become fit and confident. In October of 2011, I returned to my hometown of San Antonio, Texas where I continued to pursue my career in fitness as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, and general manager of a women’s gym. I made Corpus Christi my home at the end of 2015 and am excited to continue my personal training and
fitness instruction career in a large co-ed health club and as the yoga instructor for the Hooks minor league baseball team.
I believe that every person deserves an opportunity to live a healthy and confident life. A healthy life consists of not just a strong, lean body gained through proper nutrition, strength training, and cardiovascular exercise, but also a sound mind and spirit. My mission is to build the pathways for individuals to make beneficial changes in their lives and to facilitate their overall well-being. Let’s begin your journey toward lasting wellness today!

Thirteen years later she began stand up paddle boarding and realized she felt the exact same way while on a board. After months of renting a board, she decided it was time to buy her own and never looked back.  When she’s not busy being a high school counselor, you can find her on my mat or on the water paddling away! In 2019 she was selected to participate in ‘Tyler’s Dam That Cancer‘, a prestigious paddle fundraising event in Austin, TX She completed the 21 mile paddle and helped raise money for cancer patients and their families.

Her intentions are to bring awareness to the sport of stand up paddle boarding and inspire others to get in the water and on a board.
